Radiologist Joins Centra Southside Community Hospital

Centra Southside Community Hospital is pleased to announce that Dr. David E. Johnsen has joined the Department of Imaging, July 14, 2008.

Dr. Johnsen is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University School Of Medicine, Richmond, Virginia in 1987. He completed his residency and internship at Geisinger Medical Center in 1991. He is Board Certified in Radiology, with a specialty in diagnostic radiology.

From 1991-1999, Johnsen worked at Danville Regional Medical Center; from 1999-2001, he worked at St Joseph's Hospital for St. Joseph's Imaging Associates in
Syracuse, New York. From 2001-2008, he has been with Radiology Consultants of Lynchburg, serving Lynchburg General Hospital, Virginia Baptist Hospital, and Bedford Memorial Hospital.

“Dr. Johnsen is a valuable addition our Imaging Department,” says Dr. Gwen Eddleman, CEO and President of Centra Southside Community Hospital. “His experience and skill level will enhance the services we are able to deliver to our community.”

Dr. Johnsen and his wife Robyn have four sons ranging in age from age 11-20. He likes to fly-fish, collect wine and spend time at his farm in Amherst with his three dogs. He is an Elder in the Presbyterian Church and teaches an adult Sunday school class.
