The Women's Center Welcomes New Physician
Dr. Basco has received multiple awards and recognition for his devotion to the profession of Obstetrics and Gynecology and medicine
Dr. Thomas Basco is a graduate of Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service where he received his undergraduate degree in History. He performed research at Columbia University and completed a post-baccalaureate program at New York University prior to attending the State University of New York at Stony Brook Medical School. The United States Navy brought Dr. Basco to Virginia to begin his training in Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is a graduate of Eastern Virginia Medical School where he completed his residency.
Dr. Basco has received multiple awards and recognition for his devotion to the profession of Obstetrics and Gynecology and medicine. His accomplishments include: the Sir William Osler Award for the most outstanding teaching resident in the EVMS system; two time winner of the Berlex Award, the Jones Institute of Reproductive Medicine Award; the Depaul Hospital Obstetrics and Gynecology Award; the EVMS Gynecology Service Award; and both of the EVMS Obstetrics and Gynecology research awards. He is also a member of Alpha Omega Alpha, the prestigious national medical honor society.
