SCH Auxiliary Needs Members

Joining Hands, Touching Hearts
The Southside Community Hospital Auxiliary was formed back in the twenties to raise much needed funds for our hospital. Originally, only women were in this group. Today, the SCH Auxiliary is over 120 members strong...raising thousands of dollars each year.

In 2003, the SCH Auxiliary logged more than 81,000 hours. Funds are raised through:

-The Looking Glass Gift Shop (located in the hospital lobby)

- bookfairs (held twice a year)

-uniform/shoe sales (held once a year)

-jewelry sales (held once a year)

Who can join?

Anyone with a big heart and a big smile. The Auxiliary welcomes males and females, of any age to join.

How can I join?

The most important gift that you can give back to your community is the gift of your time and talents. Southside Community Hospital is a big
part of our community and is always in need of our support. For a donation of $3.00, you can be listed as one of our local supporters. Send your $3.00 donation to Membership Chairman Ann Irons, 12 Jamestown Rd., Farmville, Va 23901.

I don’t have a lot of time, but may I join
anyway?

A sustaining membership of $5.00 or more per year is available to anyone that wishes to support the organization, but cannot serve actively on any of the volunteer committees.

If I decide to do volunteer work in the hospital, what do I have to do?

All volunteers working in the hospital have to go through a short orientation and have a ppd screening. (tuberculosis skin test)
